has anyone ever gotten electrolysis? How often did you have to go before you saw any results? I have very light hair, but I am constantly making sure I pluck under my chin. I am paranoid... Also how much did it cost? I was referred by a friend to a place by me that charges $25 for 30 mins.

Re: anyone ever go for electrolysis?
i think you would be better off with laser. Electrolysis you do a little at a time and one area to do you will have to keep going back.

its a little different. The electrolysis you have electric current they put on that area, which i know ppl who have done it and you do feel it. Also the people i knew who did it, whenever they did one area, you only went and did a little at a time, so you do a few hair follicles then keep having to go back to get a few more and then a few more so takes time to get the whole area done. Ive done the laser, that you dont feel, they just put it over the area once, its like this longer device so over certain areas it goes on quick and then lets go right away so it only takes a few seconds. You do have to go 3-4x about every 6 weeks or so but just to get that same area done and again takes just a few seconds and its laser so you dont feel it.

i got IPL done... its kinda like laser... but it uses 'intense light' sandalwood day spa in massapequa does it!! i think they were charging me $50 per treatment... this was also about 3 years ago so i'm not sure if they still do it or how much it would be now... but its worth looking into!!

Re: anyone ever go for electrolysis?
I had electrolysis done on my eyebrows. It did take a few years, but my eyebrows are pretty thick and I was having an allergic reaction to it at first , so we were taking it slowly. I'd say it was a few months before I saw results. I went to a place near me when I was living in the city, and they charged $40 for 15 minutes. I am sooo glad I did. Now I only go back maybe once evert year or two to have a few strays zapped, but thats it really. It does hurt, but you can use numbing cream to lessen the paid.
I dont know too much about laser, but my understanding is that its not always permanent
