DH's boss made him work ALL weekend. I'm so angry that we lost this weekend because we have so much christmas shopping to do. I think we're going to take personal days this week and do it then. I don't know where the time went. I hate when the holidays feel rushed, it takes the joy out of it.

Yes!
I keep planning out the next few weeks in my head. I am trying to get a haircut this week and go get waxed. I took Friday off so that I can do super duper cleaning and laundry - then DH is taking me out for my birthday. Saturday, I have to make three kinds of cookies to go to three different houses. Sunday is my actual birthday and my mom is having a party for me bc DH will be at a bachelor party at Foxwoods. PLUS I have to find time in there to wrap all of my presents! I did half on Friday but then got annoyed and stopped.
I also want to go see the lights in Brooklyn and go see the tree somewhere in there! PLUS on the 26th we have a rehearsal dinner and a wedding on the 2nd!

noooo dont you let that happen! I make sure i listen to christmas music all the time and sometimes on my way home from work i will drive out of my way to see some different lights. I also attended some cheesy stuff at my church to get me more into the spirit of things!
make time to feel like it is the holiday season!

bake cookies. seriously. two of my friends came over last saturday and we made like 8 kinds of cookies; I made them listen to christmas music all night.
i have a final thursday and a [10 page] paper due saturday morning, so next weekend I'll be totally in the spirit. we semi-decorated the tree last night but it's mostly lights so it's easy. Next saturday I have 2 parties and then I think sunday my sister and i are going to bake more cookies and figure out what to make for christmas eve.
I would definitely try to go see the tree... it always puts me in the spirit.

your tellin me!!!!! i am so depressed b/c DH and I got back from our Honeymoon on November 28 and we had to move everything into our house b/c we did not have time b/4 the wedding, so the past 3 weekends we have been fixing the house and unpacking (we both still have soooooo much stuff at our parents house )
Anyway, this weekend we were finally going to get our tree and start to decorate for christmas and well, we got caught up in other things and yet another weekend w/ no tree and christmas is only 10 days away
Not to mention we still need to christmas shop

aww My friends would never come do this with me! I made chocolates all weekend, that definitely helped put me in the spirit. We've done so little preparation for the holidays it still feels like they're a month away. Good luck with your final/papers

so far choc chips, rainbows, pignoli, andes mints, peanut butter cup, linzer tarts and black and whites ..prob add more to the list.
