anyone get depressed after marriage?

honestly, everything is great with the marriage, but have any one of you experienced some sort of depression? I mean you know moms have that after they have a child and they miss their work, but do you get it after you get married? We went on our honeymoon, and the best time, and after we came back, our inlaws(they live in europe) stayed with us for 4 days, and everyone came by and stuff, but now that everyone is gon, I kinda feel alone at times. I mean I grew up in a crowded household, and we have family that came by every 2-3 days, which I grew accustomed to, but now it feels empty. I mean I stop by my moms and everyone is there, and I feel so good, but when I leave I feel sad. I work pretty much 16 hours a day(medical resident) but even if I have some time off, I want to be with people. Perhaps its just takes time getting used to the whole concept of marriage. Anyway just wanted to hear if anyone sort of felt this way
thanks for listening

Re: anyone get depressed after marriage?

It's hard not to be the 'bride' anymore and everyone making a fuss. That part I miss. I DO NOT miss the stress at all. But I am happy to just be Mrs Frankie!!

A couple of weeks ago I was talking about the loneliness since we work opposite shifts and only really see each other on the weekend. I totally understand. It's hard but you have to keep yourself busy.

Feel free to FM me if you ever want to talk!

Post-Wedding Depression

Definitely! It was the most happiest day of my life, happy and relaxing HM and it was very hard to get back to work. I was so depressed after returning from our HM. It took me about 5 months to re-gain my efficient self from suffering Post-Wedding Depression. For this 5 months I just stare into space and constantly look at our wedding pictures over and over mentality re-living that perfect day again. I've devoted all my time, finances, energy and effort into our wedding plans for 18 months (1 1/2 years) and was very, very sad that it was all over.

I'm feeling better now and enjoying our married life without all the hectic wedding plans. However, there's the future to look forward to such as married life and spending your whole life together complete with your dear husband, personal goals, hobbies, decorating your home together, etc.
