Anyone look into life insurance?

DH and I met with an insurance broker to talk about getting life insurance policies while we are still young and the premiums would be lower. The problem is that I am so confused about term, whole life, etc....anyone else buy life insurance and what would you recommend? I'm so bad with this kind of stuff
