Just wondering how it is to adjust from being close to the city, and being far away from it.

Re: Anyone move from Nassau to Suffolk??
Me and DH did. I grew up in suffolk so it wasn't a huge adjustment for me, but for DH it was.
First of all, he couldn't find his way around for over a year. I had to give him directions to simple places like the grocery store. He hated that he had to get in his car and drive Sunday morning to get his egg sandwich. We used to live around the cornere from a deli and he would walk there every Sunday. He also had a very hard time adjusting to everything being so dark at night (???) He claims Suffolk has no street lights. Also, when we first moved out here we used to still go into the city and aprty a lot. It was hard for him to adjust to the MUCH longer train ride. In the end though he realized this was actually better because sooooo many times he would fall asleep and miss his stop and now he's the last stop.
Now, after 2 years, he would NEVER move back to Nassau. Too congested, too expensive, and the houses are sooo small with no property. I on the other hand would love to move back to Nassau just to be closer to work and Roosevelt Field. Oh well!!
I'm sure you'll adjust fine!!! It's not that much different.
