I was wondering how your ceremony went if you didn't have one?
If you didn't have one do you wish that you did?
My hall is giving me a little run around now (of course now that I am booked) about having my rehearsal on Thursday which they said would be fine.
The officiant also charges extra for a rehearsal.
So do I push the issue to have one? I am worried things won't go smoothly if we don't.
Thanks

Re: Anyone Not Have a Rehearsal?
You dont really need the officiant to have the rehersal you could just do a rehersal to show everyone how to walk down and line everyone up, and work on the pace they need to walk down.

Re: Anyone Not Have a Rehearsal?
Honestly, have one. I didn't because the officiant didn't deem it necessary. I was supposed to have my wedding outside but because of the rain it was inside and I really didn't get a feel of the room because of that. Also my officiant didn't see who my family was so he sort of rushed in my Mom and I didn't have an order to the wedding party. So my brother, who is 6'3 wound up being right next to us and made it hard for everyone to see from the back (again because we had to have it inside). I'd say just have one because you don't want that feeling of not knowing what will happen!

Re: Anyone Not Have a Rehearsal?
We didn't but our bridal party was very small.
Our officiant wouldn't do the rehersal and gave us the order of the procession & recession. We worked with them for the order of service so we could give a heads up to the readers.
The day of the wedding they did a quick run through - catering manager and the officiant.
Everything went smoothly on the wedding day.
If your site is giving you a hard time (which I don't think they should as long as they have the space available), you could do a quick run through anywhere.

Same here ... we basically had the rehersal the morning of ... but I did know the order and had a mini run through at the bridal party dinner.

Re: Anyone Not Have a Rehearsal?
We did not because the hall would not accomodate it. Our BP was very small & our maitre d worked really hard to make sure everyone knew where to go. We had a rehearsal luncheon the day before, I typed up the ceremony details & we talked about how things would go,it worked out perfectly. We wanted to treat our BP & family to the luncheon even though we didn't rehearse.

We did not rehearse until 30 minutes before the ceremony. We did meet with our Rabbi before the wedding though, to discuss the ceremony.

Yup, us too.
didn't have one but i did have a mini BBQ at my house to give out the BP gift.
just the party!!! (which DH's uncle made us do 2 nights before so he could get drunk!! )
our hall was so good (remember they do this multiple times a week...they are pros!!) and to be honest...all you need to do is line up the people and tell them when to go...
as long as your officiant knows what s/he is doing and you know...its all good

Re: Anyone Not Have a Rehearsal?
We had a rehearsal dinner, but we didnt rehearsal for the wedding at all. We did a run through right before the wedding and everything went fine. If you dont have one its probably a good idea to just let your BM and GM know who will be walking in with who and in what order. That way when you do the run through everyone has an idea of where they should be.

we didnt have one..we were married ina small chapel, so the day of we each had a quick rehearsal, the matre D guided us through it at separate times..it went great, we had NO problems! Except Dh forgot he had mic on and talked EXCESSIVELY, but thats not due to the rehearsal, he just has abig mouth!
