So DH and I are considering buying into the timeshare/'vacation ownership' program in Maui with Starwood Hotels (Sheraton, Westin, W, etc.) It seems like it would work well for us because everything can transfer to hotel pts. so we can vacation everyone, but it seems like too good a deal. Does anyone have experience with hotel timeshare programs or the Starwood program in particular? We would LOVE some feedback from someone how loved/hated it. Either way, let me know what you think. Thanks girls!

Re: Anyone own a timeshare?
My SIL has Starwood and its great, we used it for our Maui HM and for a trip to Miami, the hotels are awesome! Esp Maui, we used Westin Ocean resort villas stunning views of the ocean...If I had money I would so do it, but since they have kids they barely go so we use it lol.
Im not sure how it works, I hears its like a big network, where people exchange their time shares I could be wrong...but hotels are 4 star

My parents have Marriott through Interval International. When we get ours that is what we will be doing too -- our base will be Aruba.

We have Fairfield which was bought by Wyndham. Unless you are definitely going to use it, don't buy it. We bought it with the intentions of using it and haven't it in 4 years. It's a real shame.
