Anyone (still) on Weight Watchers?

It's been a little over 5 months for me. I just got over a lllllllllllengthy plateau. I really like the program but sometimes when I'm at a party or Outback Steakhouse (DH is a meanie and makes me go there!) I wanna eat, ya know? Hmmm, I suppose that's what brought me to weight watchers.

Good luck if you're doing it! Any secrets, ideas, recipes to share!?

Re: Anyone (still) on Weight Watchers?

Well, this ought to motivate you. I've lost 56.4 pounds in 23 weeks!!

It can be done!! I do WW on-line only - never stayed for the meetings, anyway.

Granted, it's not easy, but it is SO worth it. Frankly, I still have a ways to go!! But I'm not stopping!!

Good luck!!

Re: Anyone (still) on Weight Watchers?

If you join online do they give you the books with the points for certain foods and the point calculator? I did WW 23 years ago or so, and I NEED to get back on!

JennRenee...

23 years ago??! LOL Were you 6?? I hope that's a typo!

They don't give you the book or points calculator, but those tools are available with the on-line program. I'd be lost without the points calculator!

Good luck!!

Re: JennRenee...

I try to follow the 'Zone' diet - I use to be a dedicated Zonie but of course, I go off now and then. But pretty much it's the way I eat. Words of wisdom 'Never say that you are on a diet, you've just changed your style of eating'!

The Zone is similar to 'Body for Life' - which is really popular these days. It's the a 40-30-30 combination of protein, carbs and fat. I try to eat more protein then carbs (probably like 50-30-20) but I do add some fat into my diet (half and half in coffee ... etc) - it tastes better and keeps you more satisfied! And when I need to lose more - I up more protein a bit and decrease the carbs (but that's only if I'm putting the pounds on)!

But I hear and 'see' (from people I know) that WW is good - they teach you a better way of eating!

Our weight, as women, will always be a struggle - especially as we get older. But isn't the rest of life a struggle too. And our husbands will definitely feel all their ill-effects one day. My DH will have the pot-belly that my dad has if he keeps it up!

Re: Anyone (still) on Weight Watchers?

I'm still doing it online (WW) and have lost 30 pounds -- it works for me and the tools are all online and pretty easy to use. I still eat out -- I just watch myself during the week and modify. I also work out -- you have to do both -- but WW is the only thing I've been able to do to lose weight except starve myself and I'm not going that route ever again!

I've still got about 15 more to lose but I'm confident I can do it and WW has helped so much.

Re: Anyone (still) on Weight Watchers?

I'm not following any specific diet, just my own combo of WW, Atkins and Slimfast. I eat a SF bar for breakfast and sometimes lunch, and either have a WW dinner or just protein and veggies for supper. I found its easier for me to eat the bars rather than stress about what I can eat at work. I'll sometimes bring a salad for lunch, but most of the time I won't remember to make something. I started last month and have lost 13 pounds! That was after spending 4 days in Atlantic City and cheating most of the time...and I haven't even started excercising!! I gained about 30 pounds this last year after I quit smoking (I already needed to lose about 10). My husband is doing it with me so it makes it a lot easier. We just bought new sneakers and plan to start walking a few nights a week.

Re: Anyone (still) on Weight Watchers?

Ok ladies Thanks for the encouragement. I am getting back on line and starting again - before I go out to lunch. I know I just have to put my mind to it. I was very successful on WW in the past so I can do it again.
Thanks again
Fran
