Anyone think it wasnt that stressful?

Anyone think it wasnt that stressful?

Did anyone else feel that their wedding planning wasnt that bad at all?? I felt as if it wasnt stressful and I enjoyed every minute of it. The only time it got crazy was the last week with the menus, favors, guests, seating...other than that..I thought it wasnt that bad. I mean, granted we planned for a year and a half but still...I thouroughly enjoyed and still miss it...

Anyone else?

I wasn't too stressed. I lost my job in April 2001 (6 months before we got married) so I guess that helped...me being home all day!! I did as much as I could early on, and as much as I could myself (making the favors, our thank-you notes, the RD favors and invites).

I really do miss it but I now have other things that I am planning!!!

I think for me wedding planning is like root canal you know it hurts, but dont remember how badly until next time.

I was completely obsessed and stressed myself out over the craziest details which spilled over to making DH nuts.

BUT..........

I miss doing it and would love to have the chance to do things differently.

I wasn't stressed at all....it was so weird. All my vendors kept telling me they wished all brides were like me.

I am sooo glad it's OVER!!!! Now I spend my time on other things, like being happily married, not having to save like on a crunch deadline, enjoy TTC, etc.
I shop & go out to eat normally again when I want, I don't scream because rude people don't respond on time, I don't have to run all over to vendors etc.

I'd love to the the day over again & again but not the planning!

I dont think I was that bad but I am sure SH would say otherwise! The last week before the wedding I spent at the beach lounging including the very day before! I guess I was very organized and that helped.

I enjoyed the planning and seeing it all come together - there were stressful moments, mostly caused by family, which I learnt to address.

In fact I feel like I learnt a lot about being assertive

I truly loved every minute of it. Thats probably partly why I am still here.

Helen I feel the same way...I became much more assertive during the planning and so did my sister (moh) with planning my shower and bachelorette party and having to deal with a not so great bridal party...

Don't you feel like you are so free now?

I have to say I didn't stress too too much and didn't let little things get to me. I think I was very carefree about a lot of things. I can honestly say I enjoyed planning my wedding. I did have a few stressful moments involving family situations but as far as just planning and attending to all the little stuff - I liked it!

It is stressful but for me it was a fun stress. I really enjoyed it. At the same time, I dont think i would have enjoyed it for much longer...so when the wedding finally came I was ready to give up that part of my life.

NYCHIC - its funny to me that your sister learnt to be more assertive too - I learnt to be more assertive towards my sister (not my MOH).

I wish we could have had a closer experience but it just didn't work out that way

Good for you and you sister !

It wasn;t really that bad for me I think becasue I was planning long distance and was far removed from it in a sense. I didn't see family and friends all the time asking me a million questions about the plans. I only came home two times during the planning and everything got done and my wedding turned out great. I also think a lot has to do with your personality. It takes a lot to get me stressed/upset. I am very easy going and just let things roll off my back...so if something didn't work out during the planning...oh well....on to the next thing on the list.

No stress here .. everything seemed to be a breeze .. many of the vendors we had were the first and only ones we looked at .. one, because we felt confident with them, and two, because I didn't want it to be a frenzy.

Probably the most significant amount of stress came when we had a bunch of people in the last week change to not being able to come .. so the seating chart, place cards and all that jazz had to be changed .. we lost enough people to come down one whole table .. which also meant making a change with the florist .. but other than that .. it was great fun. Ok, I did stress on the CDs, too .. but that was fine.

I really enjoyed planning our wedding, and missed that aspect when it was over. There were stressful moments (like before we found a location/date) but it was way more fun than stress for me.

like ddunne, I was planning long distance so it didn't take over my life...

I agree. I had fun planning my wedding. There were plenty of times I was stressed but the fun definately outweighed the stress
