anyone watch the show 'secret millionare' last night?

thoughts about it?

my only comment is that on the first show, there was the dad and son & they lived in imperial beach for a week.... DH lived in imperial beach for 3 years & he said that they TOTALLY exaggerated how 'poluted' and 'run down' it was. they showed scenes that he knew exactly where they were and he kept saying that it wasnt as bad as they were depicting it to be... DH said like any area, IB had 'bad' areas, but the areas they were in were NOT them

so anyone else watch?

We watched both episodes. DH is a carpenter so he luved to watch to rich guys do manual labor and complain about how tired they were and how much pain they were in...

The 2nd episode....the lady really annoyed me. She clearly has no idea how bad some people have it.

I liked the show----something kind of different.

ITA!

i said to DH in the middle of the show - i was like 'do you mean to tell me that these people needed to come on a tv show to realize how some people live?!?' it just blows me away that for some cases, this is probably true!

I really liked the show, I was very emotional through most of it. I do believe that yes some people dont know exactly how others are living. It's one thing to hear about it but to see them and speak to them personally is very different. Especially for the son, he grew up rich and thats all he knows. I am sure the only places he has ever gone to are luxury places, i mean they have a private jet, they live in a rich neighborhood and everybody he knows is probably just as rich.

I think its a great show bc for one they learn how other people are really living, and seeing it first hand and experiencing it. Most important, they get to help others. All those people who received the money truly deserved it. That lady Linda was so nice and caring, when she thought they needed help she told them to come to her house the next morning and she made them breakfast. Then she spoke about how every saturday she wakes up at 4am to go to the church and volunteer and help those in need bc she was homeless and knows what it is like. That older woman was unbelievable, I mean she uses all of her social security money to bring in all those kids who need help and give them a home, plus she cooks dinner for anybody that comes to her home needing a meal. A nd that girl with cancer, it was so sad to see how she couldnt get the treatment she really needed bc her parents didnt have insurance. Dh walked out during that part, once he saw the little girl with cancer he didnt want to see it.

Then the next one with the louisiana part was also so sad to see all these people who lost their homes but they still were so happy and stayed positive and tried to help others.

Every single person who got money, really needed it and i am sure it was like a miracle for them to just be handed a check for that amount.
