I feel like it should be in this sort of pot, and I don't have one
it probably should be but I really think you can use any pot that size even if it's not a stew pot, it'll get the job done. A sauce pot should be fine I cook everything in those

Hm really? I have one of those that is brand new. Maybe thats an excuse to use it. Does she do one layer of them, or multi layers?

I am pretty sure that she only does one layer

Yeah I would make it in that if you have it, but if not-you can use a shorter stock pot.

my mom makes them every christmas, its a romanian tradition and probably the most traditional thing to eat. She makes it in a HUGE pot the kind you make soup in but the extra large one. She makes a lot though since its for the holidays but takes forever to cook depending on how many you make. My mom starts cooking them from the night before to eat the next day

go to Homegoods! They have a ton of La Creuset at a fraction of the price, and in many colors!

DH said they make them at work in a tall cake pan type thing in the oven. Or he said you can use a large pot w/ a lid.
You just want to buy a LeCruset, dontcha? haha

this is what my mom uses.. I personally use a crock pot, or just a very large pot with a lid

I do want one, but even at Marshalls/Homegoods they're still like $50! How often am I really going to make cabbages.

You can make more than cabbage in it!!
Chili, sauce..whatever.
Are they really only $50 there?? I need to stay far away from there then.

oh but you can make so much more in them! Sauces, stew, chili, fry up some yummy Tostones, bake bread in them! It's worth it, and you'll have it for like 50+ years!
