My landlords need to talk to me about something tomorrow and Im not sure why but, if it was I think it may be.... upping the rent or we have to move out...... what are good sites on the computer to look for apartments? Pray for me that it is nothing major, PLEASE!!!

I always found mine on Craigs List..
When I lived in LI I used local newspapers.

Thing that ***** is I have to find something near to where I am so my son doesnt have to switch schools. I hope Im jumping the gun and its just somethign stupid.

We have found all of our apartments on Craigslist or by word of mouth. Our current apartment is awesome and we only found it because DH happen to mention to his account we were looking for a place...our landlord is the accountant's girlfriend. She had just decided to rent and we were the only people to look at it.

Try renters.com i think that's the site. and craigslist.
I'm in a HUGE bind and have to move in like 2 weeks. We have an Oil Heat Leak. It's bad news. My landlord is super dumb.... Oil Heat Leak + bad news + dumb landlord = catastrophe = move out fast. This is part of why I haven't been on lately.
Those were the sites I found to be the best. I'm weary of craigslist though... there's a lot of sketchy stuff on there. Don't deal with ANYONE who doesnt live in the US and can't meet you (there's a warning on there too).

We found a TON on Craigslist. Most were really nice and we almost took a couple.
We wound up going through a real estate agent who was a FB friend of mine. I'm so happy that I mentioned it on FB.
If you're on FB you may want to ask if anyone knows of any nice apartments in the area you're looking. You'd be surprised!

We used rent.com because there was a coupon for $100 back if you signed a lease at some place. They (plus apartments.com) are both good, but they generally only have places that are large complexes and not too many private owners.

Our apartment was listed on MLS with a broker, and we saw it for months and passed it up because of that...but then DH's aunt found a listing in the LI Catholic newspaper, and it turned out to be the same apartment listed privately, so that's how we went about it. I think there's a lot of listings in that paper, and they tend to be more private apartments with older people as landlords.
