Apartment VENT

*** is up with landlords? I just called my landlord as well and said the heat hasn't been turned on yet but the apartment is at 59 right now which really is starting to blow. 'Oh yea i guess i should turn it on' yea you think?

Now no hot water - I would be killing people.

That is such BS , i would be screaming at someone right now!

OMG Are you serious?? When did he want to put it on? January? Ugh they drive me nuts. Im wondering, if IM freezing how the old woman upstairs feels??

wow you are still sick - lea haven't you been sick forever?!

I'd be freaking. 2 weeks ago we didn't have hot water for almost a WEEK - right when it started getting cold. AND they just raised our maintenance b/c of fuel costs so you can bet people were harassing the super big time; i finally called the management co. and left a message that we weren't paying our maintenance until we had 1 full week of hot water. I do have to say my building is responsive but having no hot water when they just added a $150 assessment to our bill was TOTALLY unacceptable.

there is some NYC law that if your temp goes below a certain degree, they HAVE to heat it. I have the paper at home but i can find it for you. They could get in big trouble for freezing you out.

So sorry Lea that S*CKS definitely complain to them.

They are just being cheap bc they want to save money but you cant let people freeze.

These people are jerks. We actually complained a few months ago because the hot water wasnt getting hot enough! You could shower with only the hot water on. So they sent a maintenance guy over and he has this whole conversation with us telling us how CHEAP they are . They replaced the old boilers with these new ones that are supposed to be cheaper for them but the problem now is the water and the boiler are connected so when ONE goes out the other goes out with it. It never used to be that way. It used to be seperate so if the boiler went out we still had hot water and if the hot water went out we still had heat. He was so funny, he was like, :'BETWEEN YOU AND ME THESE PEOPLE ARE CHEAP MAN' he warned them against these new boilers. Something tells me were gonna have a rough winter.

YES! It feels like forever. I had bronchitis a few weeks ago and got over it. THAT I caught from DH or else I would have been fine. And I was finally better until my job froze me to death saturday and now sinus infection. I get chronic sinus problems so Ill have like 4 infections during each season change. My cat doesnt help my case either.

They sent a paper out two days ago that they were going to try to fix it today til Thursday. I fi dont have heat and hot water by tomorrow Im going buckwild on their a$$es.

The law is that heat has to be available starting October 15th! And it has to be set at at least 68 degrees.

I would raise H ell.
