Apple iTunes.....

Apple iTunes.....

Uhm, so I got a new laptop and I am TRYING to authorize it to use iTunes and iTunes is telling me that I am not a registered user. ???? Last time I used iTunes I had a $50 gift card on file. Does that mean I no longer OWN this gift card anymore since I can't log on?
I'm so aggravated right now.

Do you have your itunes account on three other computers? I think you can only have it set up on three, but i'm horrible with this stuff so i could be wrong.

Re: Apple? Scumbags?

I had my iTunes set up on one laptop. I just bought a new laptop yesterday and I was trying to install iTunes on the new one and it was telling me that I needed to register the new computer or I wouldn't be able to Sync my iPod, blah blah blah. Long story short, I had to unregister the old laptop, register the new laptop and it still wouldn't Sync my iPod or retrieve my user data. So I had to create a new acct and set the iPod back to the original factory settings.
It seems like it's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone at Apple. There is no information on iTunes at all. It's very frustrating.

When I downloaded iTunes on to the new laptop, all of my files were already in there. But when I tried to sync it, it said something about the iPod belonging to another computer and I would have to erase it and sync it again so I clicked ok. Then it said that I had files that were purchased that needed to be transferred over so I clicked the transfer button. Then it gave me an error message and it wouldn't let me sync at all. After doing that about 100x, I just wiped the iPod clean and then it finally worked. I don't understand why that happened.
I'm working on a PC. That was the first time I've ever had any problems with iTunes.

i'm glad you got it working it just stinks that you had to clear out your ipod to do it. i've never had problems with my itunes either (knock on wood) but i do have a friend who had a big fiasco getting hers set up on her new laptop. i'm happy you got it worked out!
