If so, any idea what it would roughly cost for me to hire a lawyer just to call my old boss about my 401k? he has been ignoring my request to have the money rolled over to my new 401k since July. But its not a lot of money at all. But it is still my money and I want it. I called the company who I have the 401k through and they said the company is the only ones who can roll over the money.

I'm not a lawyer but I had a similar problem with my old company with my COBRA plan and all I had to do was threaten to call a lawyer and they dealt with the problem right away. That usually works, maybe it will in this case - good luck!

thanks- but I know they get threatened all the time by clients and they just laugh it off and say no one has ever actually done it. So I'd like to actually do it!!

WOW!!! they must be really doing bad if they cant get anyone to answer the phone! I used to have to be there at 8 to get the phones till 9 and then the receptionist worked 9-6. They were crazy about the phones being answered. Maybe they are out of business... I'll have to find out!
