Are the DMV and/or Soical Security open on Saturdays?

Also, how long does everything take....do I need to take a whole day off of work?

TIA!

Re: Are the DMV and/or Soical Security open on Saturdays?

I know SS is not open on Saturdays. In New Jersey DMV is open 8-12 on Saturday, I don't know about Long Island.

I took a whole day off, it took me about an hour and a half at SS and then 20 minutes at DMV. SS took that long because I went late (11:00 am).

But I took the whole day off because I just didn't know how long it would take.

I was in and out of social security. I think the whole thing took maybe 15 minutes. The DMV wasn't so bad. I went to the DMV express on 34th Street. They have late hours one night a week. I think it may be Thursday but I'm not sure.

That's great - I didn't realize we could go to the express one for the name change, and I was going to go to the regular one! THanks!
