Like, believing in a black cat crossing your path, or opening an umbrella inside? I never used to be, but the black cat thing freaks me out!!!! I don't know why.

My mom also has a thing about not putting new shoes on the table I never paid attention to this one as much but she always would yell if I came home with shopping bags and I put them on the table.....'there better not be shoes in there !'
OMG my best friend and her mom are the same way! No shoes anywhere but the floor - not even putting shoes on the bed when you're getting ready to put them on. She also won't pick up any change that's tails up, even if it's in the middle of her bedroom floor. A whole bank could accumulate down there if not for her DH!

Re: Are you superstitious?
I just started typing about my grandmother and her superstition about putting shoes on the table and ppl dying, then I realized other ppl posted about this too already! Sheesh. I guess this is a widespread one. My italian grandmother always told us that. Still does.
IMO, superstitions are silly. Im definitely religious and not superstitious. I dont think that that Im in control of who dies bc I put shoes on a table. Like the Lord watches down to see and uh oh, she put shoes on a table, now someones gotta die. It just seems so silly. If you believe in a higher power and His Will, superstitions lose their power. JMO.
