Are you your DH's 'PR' person?

Are you your DH's 'PR' person?

I tell people that I am DH's PR person. I write out all of his thank you cards whenever he gets gifts, I manage the social calendar, RSVP for everything, send all of the gifts...

How bout you?

My DH seems to think that I am

I refuse to write his thank yous for him! I will give him a pen and card, but won't write it for him (you can lead a camel to water, but you can't make him drink!). I do manage the calendar--I don't think DH would even own a calendar if I wasn't there!

Yes I am and it's ANNOYING! DH's dad's birthday is next week but do you think he will get him a gift or even a card?! I just know I'll be stuck doing it!

It always seems to fall on the wife and it makes us look bad if it doesn't get done

DH never makes plans either unless I bug him. I had to force him to plan our honeymoon!

yes I do all of the above - I dont think he's ever bought a card, gift , RSVPd, etc for ANYONE or ANYTHING since we've been living together.., let alone married

And he's the one with the huge family - load of aunts/uncles , not to mention tons of little kids in his immediately family no less

I used to wonder how he manged before me .. and then I realized that his Mommy was too nice about taking care of these things for him

Matt writes his own Thank Yous and manages his own life. If we are doing things as a couple I usually do everything unless we are going out with his friends.

I absolutely am the PR person of this family!

I buy all the cards and remember all birthdays of his family and my own, I fill them out, send them out....whenever we go out, it's because I arranged it with another couple.

So yes, I'm the PR person

With the TYs, he did his share for the wedding ones. But I don't mind doing that stuff. At least if I do it, I know it gets done.

I am, but I refuse to send thank you cards for him. I might be his PR person/social advisor, but not his corresponding secretary. Plus I think the people gave the gifts to him and he should thank them. If the gift is for US then I always send the thank yous. I also send out all the bday, anniversary, etc cards from the two of us.

He had a bunch to do this weekend from his 30th bday party. I did purchase the cards, the stamps, and create a list of who gave him what. When I get home tonight we will see if they are done.

Yes, I send out all cards, shop for all gifts, remind him to make calls, doctor appointments, etc, etc.

I have to remind him sometimes but he takes care of his own business

100% yes! DH is incapable of keeping track of social plans. I pretty much make the plans for us, and keep track of his as well. He refers to me as his calendar and his memory!

he's good with appointments and calling family and remembering if we have a family gathering or something like that... we both stink at remembering to buy/ send cards. he's good with thank yous and stuff, but we usually do that together. if its something that concerns BOTH of us though, and making phone calls to find things out/ schedule things-- thats all up to me. he all of a sudden becomes phone-a-phobic in those situations

I do, too. But, I get really pissed when I spend 3 hours doing his cards and then ask him to wash the dishes and he's like 'oh, but you didn't clean anything today'
