As promised....PICS

Well, first....here's our new baby, Emary:


(ignore the ugly pic of me....i had just gotten done playing with her and I was a mess)

And a quick update: DH and I decided to ask a close friend to come walk her once a day so that I can just make one trip home each day during my lunch hour and I'd have almost a full half hour each day to play with her and walk her. It'll give her more time out of the crate each day and I wont be jeopordizing my job by leaving twice each day.
When we came home today we played with her and taught her how to walk up and down the stairs -- she got it on the second try!!!!!! She seems to be doing fine even with being crated most of the day and she got lots of play-time in when we got home....so everything is going really well now.
Thanks for everyone's advice -- it really helped calm my nerves and help us come to a solution that seems to be working great
