Did you ever try the cuban sandwiches from Fatty's Cafe? I heard theyre great also. I havent tried them.
no ive never been to fatty's. Ive seen it and wondered about it but if they have cuban sandwiches ill try it now haha. I saw fatty's cafe on tv recently, forgot what show but it was about restaurants in nyc and i think they did a thing on queens
omg you have to eat here. I'm so surprised you haven't yet. DH and eat there alot. Their brunch is awesome, I love it! Def. try and go. Better when it's nice out so you can sit outside in the back, but it's still good inside.
oh really i didnt know they had an outside part. Im surprised too, with a name like that i know i'll like the food but you know why, at first when i saw it was at night and there was a big group of ppl hanging outside and i thought it was more of a bar
It does look like a straight up bar at first glance!
d*mn i was fooled hahaha. I really thought it was a bar all along, and if i was going to a bar i just went to mccanns haha. But if they have cuban sandwiches i have to try it.
oh has anybody been to cronin and phelans. Its an irish place and sandwiches there are great, and awesome soda bread

yeah, it has a def. bar scene at night, but kitched stays open and they have lots of late diners. If you go for brunch I HIGHLY recommend the polenta pancakes. Soooo good. For dinner I either get one of the chicken dishes or the burrito and DH usually gets the cuban.

btw where is fatty's ?
On the corner of Ditmars and Crescent. There's no sign outside that says Fatty's though, it's just a plain solid blue square...right on the corner.

Hey girls,
Are there any good sushi places in astoria or LIC? DH and I are craving sushi.
There's one a few blocks from us, but it's BBQ and sushi..which kind of wierds us out.
Apparently they're opening a new sushi place across from Bella Via on Vernon, but it's not close to done yet.
Let me know your favorites.
TIA!

well euro's doesnt have a traditional type brunch just so you know. You can get things off their regular menu though
for brunch we go to 718. They have a prix fix menu which includes appetizer, soup or salad and a sandwich, not traditional type sandwiches, plus mimosa

Those 2 are the BEST, you can't go wrong with either one:
Bai on Broadway Watawa on Ditmars

yeah that works out better. Euro's is more for dinner. 718 you can do brunch or dinner bc they have separate menu's for each.
oh and the fried calamari at Euro's is awesome. The way they do it is frying it with flour and eggs, i love when its done like that. The stuffed mushrooms are awesome too, and so are the sausages made spanish style in oil.

Denise, dh and I love koren BBQ, we always go to Jang Tuh on Union and 37th Ave in Flushing and and picnic garden bbq at 149th and northern. it is a bbq buffet and you cook your own food, its fun, the only thing that bothers me a little there is all the smoke and they way you clothes and hair smell afterwards, but a nice experience!
