So I went on my lunch break to A.C. Moore, and then to get Sushi. I am walking in the parking lot and I pass a car that is filled with junk and garbage. It's a small little Toyota Camry. I passed it once and just thought 'eww that's gross'. Then on my way back from ordering my sushi, I noticed a sign on the window that says 'A spoiled dog lives here' and something about a 'weiner dog'. I then look in the drive seat and I see a little dog sleeping in the seat!!! It was the only seat open in the car, the rest was filled with junk and garbage. There was a little doggy bed in the back seat piled up on top of all of the garbage. Not to mention the windows were all UP! It's not 100 degrees out, but you can't leave anyone in a car like that, with the windows rolled up with all that garbage.
I walked past, and I felt compelled to do something. I called the cops and I told them what happened. I waited outside of the mall across from the car until the cops came or the owner showed up. I actually went in to check if my sushi was ready and came back out so I wouldn't miss the cop. On my way back out towards the car I noticed the lights on and someone was inside of it. I wanted to run up to them and curse them out and rescue the little puppy. Then I noticed there was a second puppy in there!!! They looked older , definitely not puppies, but still I wanted to rescue them!
Unfortunately the cops came right after the guy left. I didn't want to run up to the guy b/c god forbid he was crazy and pulled something on me. I just kept my distance. I wanted to scream at him :( Sorry this is so long, I just feel so horrible that I couldn't rescue those poor dogs. He drove away and the one puppy was on the back of the window 'sill' the little part behind the head rests, and the guy just drove away with the dog up there and didn't secure them or anything. Some people really shouldn't be allowed to have animals.

I hate seeing this. Feel so bad for the animals.
Good for you for trying to do something!

Aww how horrible! Some people just don't get it. If they want to treat themselves poorly who cares, but the dogs are helpless, don't mistreat them.

I'm glad you at least TRIED. Not much more you could do, because you're right - the man could have been dangerous to approach. i mean obviously he has issues, who knows the extent. I just wish the cops woulda been there to stop him. That definitely sounds like animal cruelty to me.
I don't understand the sign you read though. Was it just meant to be funny? Or was he looking to sell the dogs? I just don't understand the purpose.
This makes me sad. Me & DH always joke about how freakishly spoiled our little dog is. I HATE it when people get away with treating their pets so horribly

aside from the 5-10 minutes (or were you there longer) you waited for the cops, how do you know the guy didn't just leave his car?

It was like a stupid little sign you put on your gate, or in your back yard. It was meant to be cute I guess, it certainly wasn't a For Sale kind of sign.
It seemed to me like he lives out of his car with the dogs!

I don't care if he just left the car, or left it there over night. It was in no condition for any human being to be in, let alone an animal.

When I saw the car lights go on, I went to see if someone was in the car. It was an older man driving. I felt so compelled to go run up to the window and bang on it and tell him that he was a scumbag, but I decided not to make a scene :( He was already driving away. Ugh..I feel terrible now.
