Funny that you ask

I was just thinking - I have 24 more weeks left and it hit me - I`m going to be pregnant for another 1/2 year!!!! I`m sure by 30 weeks I`ll be antsy too. Hope you are feeling well other than the antsy-ness :o)

We are going to be having the baby at Winthrop University Hospital. They have a great facility, home-like delivery rooms, top Neonatal ICU (God forbid!), they have safety measures to ensure that no one can walk off with your baby (God forbid again!!!), and it`s not huge like some of the other hospitals. Plus my SIL is an OR nurse there and knows most of the nurses. It is in Mineola. My OB is in Garden City. Let me know if you have any other questions, I`d be glad to help.

I'm not tired of being pregnant yet(I'm 19 weeks along), but I also can't wait to see the baby. I'm not looking forward to being very pregnant during the hot summer months. Maybe we can just fast forward September 18th(my due date).

I'll be having my baby at Winthrop. My daughter was born there 6 1/2 years ago and I was very happy with the care we got. My ob is right across the street from the hospital. Actually she just had a baby 2 weeks ago, but will be back to work in time to deliver mine. I'm using another doctor in the practice while she's out.

I am using St. Charles in Port Jeff. I am somewhat new to LI area/hospitals - has anyone heard anything good or bad regarding St.Charles maternity dept ?

I am almost 18 weeks along, and I am getting VERY anxious to know the sex. (we dontplan to find out) but i find myself buying boyish pants, and then a little girly bathing suit. I am buying for both sexes, just to be prepared. God Im going to feel like im having BOTH, LOL ! thats how it felt with my sis' pregnancy's because we talked about both the boy name and the girl name as if they both were going to arrive. I think it makes it worse when youve chosen the names, (I have) and i kinda refer to them both........

Im counting the dAYS til I start SHOWING !!!!

I was just checking out this board (I'm not a newlywed yet) and I noticed your post. I was actually born at St. Charles. It is really a wonderful hospital. I work in the heathcare field and, in my opinion, it has one of the best maternity wards. My grandmother actually used to be the head nurse in the maternity ward until she retired about 10 years ago. Good choice -

St. Charles

I was born there, as were 2 of my nieces, and Ihaven't heard any complaints. Good luck! : )

St. Charles

THanks for the info !
I actually live closer to St.CAtherines (used to be StJohns in Smithtown) but i had one bad and fustrating experience (not related to pregnancy) and i also heard not-so great stories about them and i would just rather go elsewhere. (besides the fact that my doctor is not affiliated with them)- i woud have to change dr's.

thanks for the info girls !

St. Charles ~ Anna

I also live MUCH closer to St. Catherine's, but intend to use St. Charles when the time comes. My gyn is affiliated there, and I know lots of people who have had positive experiences. I'm hoping to add your story to my list of positives! : )

Funny that you ask - I am in the FINAL week!

Sorry ladies...I've been MIA from the board for awhile. I've been on disability since April 15th, and finishing up the final preparations before the baby arrives. I am due in 7 days - ACK!

So far, I am close to 3cm dilated and about 55% effaced. I CANNOT wait to get this baby out! I am very uncomfortable now, and very anxious about the labor and delivery process.

It could happen any day now, so I'll try to update everyone as soon as possible after our little angel arrives.
Hope everyone else stays well!
