Aunt Flo Question

DH and I are leaving on our honeymoon the 18th and Im supposed to get my P on the 21st. I dont want to have my period on my vacation. Im on birth control. Does anyone know if I dont stop taking them and just start my new pack if this will prevent my period from coming??

I usually just take two packs straight through (minus the placebo pills) and have no break through bleeding.

i have done it and yes - you skip your period (sometimes). I have done it three times total and once it totally messed me up and the other two times - i was fine.

You skip the last row of pills - the white ones and move right onto the next pack.

You can stop taking the pills now so your period comes early. Or, if you're sure that your period is coming on the 21st, keep taking your active pills - like you're starting over again.

I skipped the water pills and started the new pack and Aunt flo never came on my honeymoon. But I will say although it worked great the next month was very heavy and LOOOONG . It lasted about 14 days...

Thanks girl! We havent been on a vacay in YEARS so I think Ill take the chance of screwing with my period and stopping it. Hopefully it works

I had my . on our HM because I didn't plan well enough with BC. IT SUUCKED! Honestly though- and this is going to sound gross, but sex alleviates cramps so as long as you take alot of showers you should be fine

At least you know your chances are less for getting knocked up jk...but not really.

If your really concerned, I would just stop taking your pills now so you get your . now and then start taking them again in a few days to stop it.

Just one thing - this only works if you are on monophasic pills (meaning they're all the same level of hormone or same color pill for the 3 weeks you take them). If you are on something like ortho tri cyclen (sp?) it doesn't work. If you have monophasic pills, it should work. Good luck!!

I was on the pill and scheduled to get it during the hm so I skipped the placebo pills (I was on Levelen I dont know if those are the triphasics or not) and started the new pack after the 3rd week and it worked beautifully.

I had no problems with my period after that, it came on time when scheduled, and not heavy and not out of whack.

Funny I made a gyn appointment when I got back for my annual exam and when I told them when my last period was they looked at me like 'UM HELLO' then I told them what I did and they understood

I did this for my honeymoon.. But if you are already taking your water pills you CANNOT start the new pack

I continued taking the next month right away (minus the sugar pills) and did not have any problems at all. Some people notice some spotting, but I didn't.

Thats what I did for my HM. It def works, but you may have spotting. So bring stuff anyway.

I take Yaz and theyre all one color. Theyre the pills that allow you to get your period for 3 days max so I think it will work!! Thanks so much girls!

As far as sex during Flo, I HATE it. Its been done but I just dont feel comfortable. So this HAS to work! Cross your fingers for me!

Oh and if I stop them now, my period wont come until the regular time anyway. I know it and it would probably last much longer
