Baby?

Baby?

DH wants to start TTC, but I'm not ready.

DH is 8 years older than me and established in his job, so naturally he wants to have kids.

We dated for 4 years before we got engaged, so why do we have to rush now? Also, we rent out our upstairs, so we have literally no room in our 'apartment' to put another roll of paper towels, let alone a baby. The extra bedroom is and office and DH's 'music room' for his equipment, so that's out.

He says that the baby would sleep in our room for a year anyway........wait a second......now he thinks I am going to sleep with a baby in my room for a year?!?!?!?!?!? No way.

I freaked out and said I was not having any baby until there is a room for him to sleep in BEFORE he is born! He doesn't agree.......

Oh, boy, any advice?

Awww sorry to hear you don't see eye to eye. I personally agree with you. Even you hubby will realize that you will need your alone time together during the first year of having a baby. It is important that you have a place to take a min while the baby is sleeping, in another room.
Is there any hopes of moving to a bigger place?
I would just try to sit down with your hubby and discuss the pros and cons of having a child at this point in your life.
Good luck!

DH had said that we would kick the tenants out once we have a baby on the way, but I think he's nervous about not having the rental income......but that's no reason to put a baby in our bedroom!!!!

I agree....maybe you can baby sit someones kid, for a while and let him see what it is like to have a baby in the room with you.

I agree. It can be tough at times. Its the most demanding job of all. If you plan on working and being pregnant and then having a baby thats difficult too. Im not saying men have it easy because once the baby is born it will be a big change for both of you, but I think its extra difficult for a working woman and he should try to understand where you are coming from.

Sometimes men get the baby bug too. Mine is already talking about a 3rd and I havent even had our second! LOL I set him straight though LOL

Good Luck.

Re: Baby?

It def. sounds like you are not ready to start....neither am I so I hear you....but you and DH should really talk about this. First off, the baby will not be necessarily 'sleeping' in your room; I think any baby needs a nursery! I guess because he is a little older he's itching to start, which is a beautiful thing, but you're both in it together, so you just have to set a more reasonable timeline....
