Baby Gift ... Ideas, Please!

Our friends had a baby the day after our wedding - how cool is that? But we wanted to get them Pamper gift certificates and Pampers does not offer them anymore! We definitely want to give practical - a little something (no more than $50)! I thought of a savings bond - but we are giving money for the Christening! Does anyone have any ideas that are useful? I know she pretty much has all she needs and we thought diapers would be wonderful, but we are out of luck there!
