Baby Shower Help
I'm helping to put together my SIL's baby shower end of next month. Can someone give me some ideas for favors and/or games? I suggested the game where we measure her belly but she wasn't a fan of that.

Neither is she...so a game that she doesn't have to do anything would be perfect but yet serve the purpose of keeping people entertained. Where did people put the clothespins? On themselves? Or was there some kind of clothespin holder?

Re: Baby Shower Help
I threw my SIL a baby shower 3 years ago.I still have all my games saved on this computer if you want I can email them to you. they're in word.
um... my favorite:
the dirty diaper game.
buy a cheap package of diapers (give her the rest or make a diaper cake)
buy different chocolate candies.
melt each of the candies in a glass bowl
spoon into diaper.
mark diaper with letters 'A, B, C, etc'
and pass the diapers around asking everyone to write their guesses on the candy.
also there's the guess the food game
take all the labels off of the babyfood, put a sticker on it with a letter (or number) and have the guests guess what flavor the food is.
I have the baby bingo game saved. basically as the guests arrive put a number on their gift, mix them up, as the gifts are opened the guest of honor yells out the number written on the gift, the girls use pens or stickers to cross of their bingo sheets.
'never say baby'
each attendee gets a beaded necklace, if they catch someone saying the word baby then they ask that person for their necklace, the girl at the end of the party with the most necklaces wins.
'left right game'
again, I have the story saved, but everyone sits in a circle, hand the guest of honor a gift (favor) and start reading the story, when the word left or right is said then the gift goes in that direction.
I know there's more, but i can't think just yet. give me a minute and i'll look them up.

Re: Baby Shower Help
okay more: (again, i have them saved)well before i continue, what i did was i made game packets for everyone.
page one had
never say baby
dirty diaper game
babyfood game
word scramble
page two had:
finish the rhyme
baby bingo
um, page two each one is different because of the bingo, page one is just one page
so the two i was missing in the above post
baby word scramble. basically what it sounds like. you take a word and scramble it, the guests have to unscramble it.
like
dndwige = wedding
and finish the rhyme, is basically a list of nursery rhymes with missing words, they have to fill them in.

yeah usually on themselves, on the end of the sleeve or shirt collar... so people can see how many you have...

Re: Baby Shower Help
My baby shower is this weekend. One of my friends is making a 'predictions sheet' for each guest to fill out, filled with things like...what will her name be, eye color, hair, birth weight, length, favorite school subject, hobby, etc. She's going to put it all in a nice book so that
can look back when she's older and see thoughts from her great grandmothers, grandparents, aunts, etc. I'm really excited about it because it's so simple but meaningful! You can do a celebrity baby names game...either a pair the celebrity with the right baby name, or 'celebrity baby name or fiction' sort of game where you pick out the craziest celeb baby names you can find. I bet people would get a kick out of that!
And just the opinion as a current pregnant person...I would never do the measuring belly game because I would be SO upset if someone was really off on my size. Extra hormones make a girl super sensitive to stuff like that
.

Re: Baby Shower Help
I LOVE the dirty diaper game! So much fun! Also, at my friends baby shower they bought a bunch of white onsies and markers and had everyone design their own onsie for the baby. It was REALLY cute and then she had all these newborn onsies for the baby.
Another one that was cute was everyone got a little piece of paper and we had to guess the size of the father when he was born. It was funny to see what some people came up with because it really is a complete guess but you had to guess pounds, oz, and length.

Re: Baby Shower Help
For my sister's baby shower I bought white bibs from toys r us and fabric markers from Michael's. Each guest decorated a bib for the baby. We had a small dying rack and when they were done all the bibs were on display. My sister said they all washed very well. She loved it.

Re: Baby Shower Help
From a friends shower:Game sheet & you had to guess how long each animal was pregnant for.
Example: An elephant is pregnant for 22 months.
A mouse is pregnant for 18 days.
You can easily google any animal & find out the answer.
It was set up as a matching column.
