Babylon??

anyone from there?

i have a friend who wants to move there how are the schools?

good areas? bad?

I live in Babylon. LOVE the area. I would love to get a house eventually in Babylon village

It is expensive though. The school district is great but the high school is ehhh not the greatest but not the worst right now. It is weird because 6-8 is in the same school as the HS students and I don't like that.

I grew up in Babylon and went to Babylon Jr Sr High in the 90's. At the time, the school was very well regarded. According to the school, 99% of their graduating class went to college in 2007, so I'd guess its still good.

Yes, the high school is 7-12th grade all in one building. But it was awesome! I loved it. Its especially great because siblings can be in the same school even if they are years apart.

The class sizes are much smaller than most schools so its not really that big of a deal. Most graduating classes are around 120 kids. The cafeterias & gym classes are separated by Jr & Sr high. The entire school 7-12 is about 900 kids.

The more desirable area is south of Montauk highway (on the water, even better. ) The Indian Streets are also nice. Oh and kids who live at Oak Beach,. West Gilgo, etc, go to Babylon.

My mom is a real estate agent in Babylon Village for 30 years. Let me know if your friend needs help.

I grew up in Babylon attended all of Babylon's school system, They are great, very small i think i gradutated with 146 kids in my class.
JR/SR high school is 7th grade thru 12th! they have one JR/SR, one elem-k-1 and one grade school 2-6.

thats what one of our family friends whos a realestate agent told us as well as my mom who works for the suffolkPD that seems to be what all the police officers tell her. since she askes for recommendations for DH and i since were house hunting

I grew up in N. Babylon. Its not the worst but not the greatest. We live on the borderline of Babylon Village and N Babylon now. The Village is great, lots of restaurants and bars and little shops.

Before I got married I lived in the same area in my co-op! I love Babylon Village, great shops and my two favorite nail salons are there. Babylon is a really nice area and the schools are good. I really miss it

My husband teaches at WB so I might be biased but it IS a good district, at least from my viewpoint. He says that Babylon is the worst one.

Ok so this post had me intrigued. I kind of couldn't let it go. I had been thinking about it. I asked my mother (a real estate agent in the Babylons) and she said Babylon Village is still has the best schools of the 3 Babylons.

So I took it to google. The results are open to interpretation, but Babylon still looks good to me (and def not the worst)
