I know this is a newlywed board but I was wondering if you ladies could share your experinces from your bachelorette parties. We're looking for ideas in NYC. We don't want to go to any of those shows, we just want some fun bars and other places. Please share!! Thanks!

I liked Culture Club. Also enjoyed the off Broadway show Naked Men Singing.

Re: bachelorette experiences
I think I had been dangerously close to not having a bachelorette party .. but one of my girls absolutely insisted I be taken out .. so we went to one of our favorite restaurants the evening before the wedding .. Houstons at Roosevelt Field Mall. (They make the best ribs!)

jack n jill
we had a jack n jill shower....and batchleor/ette party. Actually, it was a dinner in a chinese restauarant in bklyn. LOTS Of fun! and afterwards rob went out w. the guys to a bar with live music...and my best friends came home with me to help me finish packing Sorry- I guess I should not have left the planning up to them!

None for me
I never had a bacholerette party...not that I wanted anything wild....but, I didn't even have a night out with my friends. A couple of people said they were planning it for me, but never did. Oh well! My 30th birthday is coming up...maybe I'll be surprised by something then!

Re: None for me
I agree Colleen... that's why you should bring a spare in your pocketbook!
I love off the wagon on bleeker and macdougal. Mcsorleys is also always packed, by NYU. Merc lounge on Mercer below houston has a very posh atmosphere
then in the east village, we go to a little dive that I love...Bull McCabes (st marks btw 2 and 3)...so not so divey experience...theres a bunch of places on 2nd ave by st marks...like Jolly Roger and telephone bar and grill. nevada smiths is on 3rd and 11th or so...
if you want to go a little furthur down into the lower east side...right off houston on ludlow has a lot ofplaces to go to...
