back from the Dr.

back from the Dr.

I went because I had a mild cold that wasn't going away with nyquil...but I also asked about my dizzy spells over the last month and a half or so and it looks like I may have a mild ear infection that could be causing the vertigo. it's not for sure though. But the doc said my left ear is slightly pink and irriated so if the pennicillin doesn't clear that up and fix the dixxy spells I'll need to go to an ear specialist. next.

Thank god I'm on DH's medical policy now ...my meds only cost $2!!!! WAHOOOOOOOO!

I'm glad your dizzy spells may only be due to an ear infection!!! If they don't stop and you do end up needing to see an ENT, let me know if you need any recommendations. I saw one many times in 07, and then I was sent to Neurologists. Good luck!!!

It's called the Epley Manuever. Basically, they test you first to see which side is your worse side - mine was my right. So, the procedure is that the PT holds your head and pulls you back quickly so that you're laying on your back on a table but your head is hanging off in her hands. As she pulls you back, she turns your head all the way to the right (well for me it was right, she'd do left first if you were left-side affected) at a 45* angle and holds it there for 3 mins. Then she slowly turns your head so you're looking straight up, and holds it there for 3 mins. Last, she turns it all the way left at a 45* angle for 3 mins. It was 9 mins of hell but next week is when we learn if it even cleared up my vertigo or not. If it didn't, she has to Epley me again Like I said, hopefully your dizziness is just from an ear infection and nothing more!

so Marisa, as I'm reading this I'm thinking to myself...OMG, I'd be so nauseaus during this whole thing. and 3 minutes isn't a long time when you are having fun, very it's like forever when you are stuck in an uncomfortable position.

I hope it cleared everything up for you.
