If anyone is looking for a really great place to go in Playa del Carmen this is the place! Absolutely fabulous! You get there and the sit you down in this beatiful lobby area and hand you a glass of champagne and a hot towel upon arrival. There were beatiful flowers in the lobby that gave the whole place a wonderful smell! The rooms were beautiful with a separate shower and garden tub complete with jets and bubble bath! There was champagne and fruit waiting for us in the room. They clean your room twice a day complete with turn down and a mint on my pillow everynight. They even put classical music on for you. The beach and the pools were great. The food was amazing and every meal was an experience not just a meal....sorbet to cleanse the palatte, warm towel in between courses amazing desserts. It was great becuase no children are allowed and the place is very quiet and classy. 24 hour room service was also included. They even gave you a flag to take with you while you were on the beach that you put up when you needed a drink or something to eat! So, overall a great place that I cannot wait to go back to! So, I know you are all thinking where are the pics!? They are coming....stand by for pictures!

Wow! I am soooo jealous you went there! I JUST TOLD DH that our next planned vacation had to be at that EXACT resort location...I saw it on the travel channel and it is *very highly* rated. How did you like the 'all-inclusive' set up? I would LOVE to hear more AND see your pics!

Claud..the all inclusive was great! It is not your typical all inclusive with buffets and burgers. I think I gained 5 pounds from all the delicious food! Even their 'snack bar' by the pool was fantastic...mahi-mahi sandwiches, salads, and good lunch food and munchies for when you are just sitting by the pool hanging out and drinking! I drank 'dirty monkeys' all week long...banana daquiri with kahlua! So good! I will load my pics tonight from my camera and be sure to share. Plus we watched the entire solar eclipse Thursday night sitting on the beach. So awesome. Oh...plus one night they had Mexican Fiesta by the pool..they literally worked all day clearing the deck and setting up for this amazing party. I thought it was for a private party until we went to go our dinner reservation and they were like you guys have a table reserved at the Mexican Fiesta. They had an outdoor show with dancers performing tradional dance from all over Mexico. It is such a great place to go...kind of on the pricey side so a perfect place for a special vacation or something.

Can't wait to see your pictures that resort looked sooo gorgeous (I had looked into it for my vacation - I went to Aventura Spa palace the week before you). We actually dropped a couple off there and the grounds looked so nice.

Re: Back from the Royal Hideaway
Is the food like good wedding food, or are we talking gourmet fancy Manhattan restaurant food? My husband loves to eat well on vacations, and this is his primary concern for going to an all-inclusive. Also, do you think that the price would still be worth it without alcohol? The pictures on Royal Hideaway's web site look amazing. I'm glad to hear you had such a fabulous time!!! We can't wait to see your pics!
