in my drunken stupor the other night, I saw a car at a B&B on Thames Street (in Newport) that said 'just married.' I marched into Ben & Jerry's (across the street) and got a $20 gift certificate & left it on their windshield with just congratulations written on it. My friends were like 'WHAT are you doing???' but I was so adamant about it. I was like 'its the nice thing to do! Think of how happy they'll be when they go to their car in the morning.' Darn thing probably got stolen but it's the thought that counts.

absolutely--it reminds me of that story someone posted about getting a small gift off their registry in the mail from strangers who had gotten married the year before on that date
