Re: Bed Bugs!
I had the same problem, the bldg. exterminator told us to wash all of our linens/bedsheets with hot water and not to leave any items or clothing in our bedroom. They def have to spray them. Unfortunately, that's the only way to dry them out. If I find the business card, I'll FM you his info. The bug exterminators can get very pricey, luckily our bldg does a monthly extermination.

Re: Bed Bugs!
If you google bed bugs you will learn the best way to get rid of them is to get a plastic cover for bed bugs and all your pillows. Leave it on for 6month min. They apparently can live that long after a bite , and the best way is to suffocate them. Spraying can be harmful to other things in the household. Pets, food.. etc. I wouldn't recommend that unless your house is infested.
Are you sure they are bed bugs? They are soo small it is soo hard for you to see them and they hide really well!!! Usually ppl know bc they are getting bite up in the night and you have like a rash.
Another tip is to never let other ppl put their coats or purses on your bed or never put your luggage on the bed coming from traveling. You can transport them , that is usually how it happens.
Take a sock and put it on your bed with the sheets off and see if you can see brown dots that jump or little debris of brown inside the mattress from their droppings.

Re: Bed Bugs!
I have three of them in custody. I put them in ziplocks and left them on a bed as an example of what their little friends can expect if they mess with me.
I had been waking up in the middle of the night itching for about a week. Hubby went to the derm.
good tip on bagging the bed.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Bed Bugs!
Bed Bugs are a huge problem and are very hard to get rid of. I work for a residential program and we have been lucky but others have not. I have the name of an exterminator at work so when I go in tomorrow I will get it. If you get bed bugs you basically have to wash and dry everything! They can get into your bed frame and walls!

Re: Bed Bugs!
Thanks for all the help. We are working on getting in an exterminator this week. Worst part is, our bed was custom made for the size of the room, and we just got it 6 months ago! I so wish I had put one of those protectors on it We do have a room with another bed, thank heaven!

Re: Bed Bugs!
I had a flea problem once. And although that's not the same... they have A LOT of similiarities that most people are unaware of.
These types of parasites are VERY VERY VERY DIFFICULT to get rid of!! You shouldn't have any sort of company ... you dnn't want to spread it to anyone... and also then they can end up giving it back to you and it could be a viscious cycle.
I did NUMEROUS bombs and spend hundres of dollars. NOTHING was getting rid of the fleas. SO I found this stuff called SEVIN... you can find it at Home Depot in the outdoor gardening section. It's a very fine white powder. What it does is it dehydrates the little suckers... it kills all stages. Really kills all stages.. not like most other remedies that claim to kill them all. What's hard and waht a lot of people dont know is that they can go into a dormant stage and come back a year and a half later. You have to kill every single sucker.. every egg, every bug, and all the larvea that you can't see. Sprinkle this poweder all over EVERYTHING. let it sit for a few hours. For us we stayed out of the house for the night. Then come home and vaccum it all up. Throw out th filter. If you have pets take them out of the house while you are doing this and wear a mask when you sprinkle it down.
If you have any questions FM me. It took me about a month to find this stuff and really get rid of it. It was the biggest nightmare everrrrrr!!!!!
Also, know that they multiply very quickly so you really want to get on that like NOW.
Good Luck!!! I'm sorry you are going through this!

there's no silver lining to this, but I guess the good part is I am getting rid of a lot of stuff. If it's in the bug zone, and I don't really love it, it's gone. Still it's a nightmare. Hubby is at work, so I am spending labor day doing this!!!!

You MUST be careful you dont have them migrate from one bed to the other.
Its a HUGE problem if you dont take care of it right away and fully.
And they can be in your cloths and travel to work with you....then once you have exterminated be right back there.
This is a very big problem!! Call the exterminator now!
