being 'right'

being 'right'

i just had a major blowout with mom over my car; i feel that i'm right, she thinks i'm nuts and that i'm treating her like a stranger and that i've had a 'personality change' since becomming vegetarian!!!

i originally called her to clear the air and just made it worse because i'm stubborn and so is she. but when you feel you're right dont you still fight for yourself???

Absolutely. I think you need to stand up for yourself when you feel you are right

On a side note, congrats for becoming a vegetarian! How long has it been for you? My family gave me a lot of trouble when I first became one too.

I read that book too. It's so horrible. It's so funny how people think it's just a phase. Like you can't live without eating meat.

I am pretty stubborn and don't concede a point too easily.

On a side note: My brother went vegetarian a few months ago but only told my parents at their BBQ on July 4th because he knew they would totally freak out.

Guess what, they did freak! Why do people get so worked up over this decision? My Dad called him a sissy and told him to eat a Bison burger (after all, it's not beef) and my Mom chased him around with steaks saying - 'but we RAISED YOU TO BE A MEAT EATER!' Like it's their choice.

You had to see the poor kid eekking out some space on the grill for his Tarder Joe veggie burger.....

Already FM'ed you, but I still wanted to give you more of these
I remember all to well the MANY reactions of my family members & friends when I became a veggie in 1992.
