BEST PICTURE, place your bets!

BEST PICTURE, place your bets!

We have an Oscar question for our fashionistas, so here is one for the film buffs...

Who do you think will win Best Picture?
Lets place our bets now, even if you don't know the films, take a shot...

Keep in mind as you vote: For the first time in Oscar History there are 10 Best Picture Nominees and voting will not be determined by everyone picking their favorite film but rather by everyone in the Academy ranking films from 1-10 and averaging the scores. So So that means that film that gets the most first choice votes might not win.

The Nominees are:
Avatar
The Blind Side
District 9
An Education
The Hurt Locker
Inglorious Bastards
Precious
A Serious Man
Up (the animated film)
Up in the Air

Avatar is the obvious answer but I think the Academy steers clear from the obvious choice, so I am going with The Hurt Locker.

Although the last time I think the obvious choice won was Titanic, and Avatar should win all the technical awards, so its possible for Avatar to be the next Titanic.

Why do I end up watching horrible movies like All About Steve and I haven’t seen a single one of these?

I’m going to go with Up in the Air.

I saw most of these and LOVED LOVED LOVED UP so that would be my choice.

I didn't like Hurt Locker, Avatar, Inglorious Bastards, or District 9.

I haven't seen any of these except for Up (which I thought was the most sweet and endearing movie..I cried throughout the entire film).

But going off of reviews I would have to say it is going to be either Up in the Air or The Hurt Locker.

So why on earth is District 9 in this category?? I saw it, good but not oscar worthy in my opinion.

My vote is for Precious, what an amazing movie, such a great drama.

Didn't see Hurt Locker but hear its great. I did see Avatar and loved it,.

Re: BEST PICTURE, place your bets!

There are a lot of movies that would not have been in it before. The reason was that they wanted to have 10 nominees with films people have actually seen in an effort to draw viewership to the Oscars.

According to most entertainment writers the winners are Avatar or the Hurt Locker with Inglorious Bastards being the dark horse that could win.

Up is so cute but doesn't stand a chance for best picture. It will win Best Animation though.

I love that movie too, I think Sandra Bullock has a great shot at Actress, though Meryl was AMAZING as Julia Childs. Not sure its Best Pic quality though. There is not much that stands out in it technically, and since Academy members are past nominees in all the different areas, it has to have technical merit to win.

Thats crazy, that could influence the Academy in an opposite way and cost Hurt Locker the statue.
