Best way to get to the airport....

DH and I are going on vacation starting Sunday (yay) ... but i have no idea what the best way to and from the airport would be....

normally, i'd get a friend / family member to drive us there and back, but the flight times are AWFUL and i wouldn't ask anyone to do that.

does anyone know of a good shuttle / taxi that isn't going to cost TOO much from Farmingdale?

also, how does the Air Train work? How often does it come in, and how do i get there from the LIRR? Also, does the train come often or will we need to stand outside in the cold for a while?

bleh ... i hate flying

Which airport, JFK or LAG?
Assuming JFK, fastest is LIRR to the AirTrain in Jamaica. The AirTrain is super fast, there's not a long wait since they have 1 shuttle leaving at the same time as another shuttle comes in...there are also vestibules at the station so you won't be outside in the cold.

when DH and I came back from NC we didn't have anyone to pick us up from JFK, so we took the shuttle train to jamaica, then got on the LIRR to babylon and my grandfather picked us up.

You can take a cab to the train, take that to jamaica then shuttle to JFK.

Thanks for the advice and whatnot - DH and I are going to 'brave' it and take the AirTrain
