Bikram yoga???

Anyone do this??? i know it's the latest 'craze' right now..but i've heard the results are incredible & i've been dying to try it!

my sil went to a class last night.. she said by the end of it she wanted to cry/die because of how much she was hurting...but she said she woke up this morning and felt INCREDIBLE..that there was no explanation other then the fact that she felt like she was floating/happy/positive lol. said she left the class saying how she'd never go again, but woke up this morning saying how she can't wait to go back tonight! any other feedback??? her class was in nassau in the hicksville area..anyone know of a good class a little closer to Queens??

I loved it until i got bored. you sweat more than youve ever sweat before (like clothing drenched) adn i love that in a good workout. agood sweat = a good workout (to me). but the art of 'bikram' is the actual routine you do. its different poses but the SAME different poses in a certain succession. so if you do it 1, 2 or 3 times a week your doing the same exact program everynight and it never changes....

i still love to do it once ina while, but for my routine yoga class i go to the studio in my town that offers classes that have different instructors therfore different poses etc.

fun though! i do enjoy bikram..

I used to do and too and got bored. It was good in the beginning, but other than sweating like crazy, I didn't 'feel' any different.

I love it! Every time I do it, I feel good for days afterwards.

Actually there is a difference between Bikram and regular Hot Yoga. Bikram is 26 poses and its the same every time, you hold the poses at length. Some places also offer regular Vinyasa in a hot room, which is different. I've done both, and personally I didnt get nearly as good as a workout from the Vinyasa Flow class as the Bikram class.

where in forest hills?? do tell! I stopped going b/c it's too inconvenient - I used to go with my friend to the one in union square. I will say I do feel amazing after bikram and if you stick to it - its 90 minutes a class, so sometimes hard to find time - you definitely see results. I miss it actually - I feel like it detoxes me even though i want to vomit sometimes while doing it.
