Anyone have an IUD? I'm on the pill now and I'm terrible w/ taking it and it's throwing my cycle out of wack! It's just not convenient for my life right now. I was on the patch before I had my son and LOVED it! But with all the stories about women dying from blood clots, I don't even want to go there.
I was looking into the IUD. There's no hormones w/ the ParaGard AND it last for 10 years!! That's awesome!
Has anyone had any experience w/ an IUD??

I looked into the Nuva Ring as well, but there is a class-action lawsuit going on with that b/c it causes blood clots also.

Re: Birth Control
Really? Hmm Nuva Ring has a lower doseage than the patch. Its exactly like the pill. Thats why i am taking it. I have been on them ALL but the piilsl give me yeast infections and the Patch..we will NOT go there..I was a psycho on that thing. But that had like 3x the normal amount of hormones in the pill. The Nuva ring hormone is the same as low dose pills.
All Birth controls have the possibility of blood clots-listed among all the other side effects. If you're not healthy then its obviously higher but I am fine and I have bad circulation. I don't notice any hormone change on the ring unlike the patch. That I would NEVER reccomend.
I did think about an IUD but I am afraid because its an internal thing. The ring scares me enough as does any hormone related stuff because my mom had trouble conceiving. DH wanted me to consider the IUD.

I use the nuvaring and love it. I actually have a calendar in my house that I tracked when I need to take it out...I forget pills too, so this is a better option

Re: Birth Control
i just found this video, and I'm sorry but i'm like a three year old, I cannot stop laughing..
I'm sooo not making fun in any way, i just thinks this kinda stuff to watch is so funny
I know someone who had a Paraguard IUD and it made her periods insanely heavy with horrible cramps. She ended up having it taken out. This may not be for everyone though.

Re: Birth Control
I recently took myself OFF the pill... enough with the hormones already. We are starting to learn more about Natural Family Planning... it takes work to learn about your cycle and all that, but it's completely natural and it works.
