First question - How many months at a time will your Dr give your prescription for? (mine won't give more than 6 months and I have to argue to even get that..)
Also, does anyone use Nuvaring and have an ob/gyn that is familiar with it that you can recommend to me? (Somewhere between LIE exits 44-57 would be ideal)
I've been 'on it' for a few months and love it, but was turned off when I went to my Dr last night and they were asking me all about it because I'm their only patient on it I had asked for the prescription because I never remember pills, they didn't specifically recommend it but they should still know something about it to be giving prescriptions, right? I want to stay on it, just switch to a more familiar doctor.

my doc gives me a 12 month prescription. i think this is because of insurance or 2 or 3 consecutive clean pap smears.

easy for me so far.. so nice not taking a pill every day! I don't feel it at all.

Mine will only give me 6 months but that is for insurance purposes.

Mine recommended it b/c i'm always forgetting to take my pill. They also will only give me 6 months at a time to make sure i come back for my 6 month breast exam and blood pressure check. it doens't bother me b/c i know there are a lot of risks with the pill and like that they keep track of me, lol
I go to Dr. Singer in the Huntington Medical Group. I love her.

ok well i am not on BC anymore, i just stopped taking it bc me and dh are ttc, but when i was my obgyn would give me a perscription for 12 months.
I also tired the nuvaring for 2 months, and i didnt like it at all, my Dr have we 2 sample to see if i liked it or not. I tired it for 2 months and had 3 yeast infections in that 2 months, so i refuse to try it again

mine is for 12 months and i was on NR. I liked it just okay.... i always kind of 'felt' it. but now i'm on the patch and like it better. i'm bad with taking pills too.
my doc is in the city so I won't even recommend her since you want to stay in LI

I have a year supply but thats because I order through medco its saves me so much money
