Birth control (lose weight)

Hey Girls,
I recently swithced birth control 3 months ago from Ovcon (which I loved but insurance no longer covered it) to Microgestrin (loestrin). I feel like I have gained weight since I have been on the pill (non of my honeymoon dresses fit me). I am so mad because I was on a bill that I had no symptoms on for 8 years and now managed care won't cover it. My eating habits have not changed. Anyone know a BC pill that you have lost weight or stayed the same on? TIA!

I liked YAz but BC pills all give me eyast infections so I switched to the Nuva Ring and LOVE it. Its the ease of the pacth but the hormones are much lower. I dotn get crazy side effects and no infections.

you are so lucky i tired the nuva ring and i had the worst yeast infections ever, my dr told me to stop using them and put me back on bc

I've been on Yasmine (very similar to Yaz) for years and didn't notice a gain when I started it. When I gain weight, it's usually b/c I'm just eating too much.
I also don't get as much PMS bloating as I did when I was on Ortho.

I don't get yeast infections but I have leukorrhea(TMI- sorry) when using it. It sux but not enough that I'll switch to the pill because I'm REALLY bad at remembering to take it.

I also feel like I'm really hormonal and SUPER bloated the week before AF comes.

I plan on going off it soon anyway.

ive been on loestrin for like a yr and a half+ and i had some side effects during the first 3 mos adjustment period. i didnt gain any weight initially but now that ive been on it for a while, its harder to lose weight for some reason, not sure if its the pill. i love loestrin though! like no period, no cramps, its great. maybe give it some more ti8me?

It's so funny because since being on this new pill, I have worse cramps and heavier periods.

youre in the first 3-4 mos though, right? bc that would make sense. that happened to me a little earlier on (bloating, cramps, breakthrough bleeding, etc). then it all totally normalized afterward and has been amazing! literally don't get a period. maybe a tiny bit of spotting (TMI) during the iron pills. sometimes nothing at all.

Wendi- I was on Ovcon too and absolutely loved it. I got swtich over to Ortho Lo and I too have gained weight from it (and from being a newlywed ).

Yaz is great. When I first started Yaz I was a little bloated the first few months but after that I was able to maintain my weight just fine.
