You can do just as good online....in my opinion its not worth all the chaos to go to store.

It's worth it to some people- like my Sister. She got me my Kitchen Aid mixer which normally costs 300 for like 125 on black Friday.

Me? I hate people and crowded stores so that's a big no for me. I decorate on black Friday and stuff my face with leftovers from turky day.

I feel like this is a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway...do furniture stores have Black Friday sales? We need a new bedroom set and I'll probably wait if I can get it cheaper then.

Personally, I think the best deals are found at the malls in NJ- Quakerbridge, Brunskwick Square, Princeton, Menlo Park, Woodbridge Center, Jersey Gardens, etc. If you arrive early around 4-5am, they serve coffee with pastries and give out goodie bags/gift cards. It's less crowded and a lot nicer than the malls in NY. No crowd fanatics or crazy shoppers, lol. I got a Kenneth Cole pea coat last year that was marked down with an add'l early bird tag (arrived at 5am). The total cost- $49.99 from retail of $189.99.

I've never shopped for Black Friday.. I always find deals.. But if you are looking for a TV blackfriday is a good day to buy one. Browse today for upcoming deals. .. There will be lots of competition specially for the holidays and stores are really feeling this recession.. GL

Check this out. I think best buy is having an early black friday sale soon...

also found this online:

Sears
Sears rolled out its Black Friday sales before Halloween, starting last Friday night and extending through Saturday at noon. The store will continue with what they call 'Black Friday Now' sales every Saturday morning until after Christmas

Maybe you can check these out early and not have to deal with the black friday crowds!

Re: Black Friday

I actually love Black Friday shopping. I know, I think there's something wrong with me. The past couple of years (this year included) I haven't been able to go, but my mom and I always used to wake up @ss early and get to the mall at like 6:00 a.m. ... shop for a few hours and be done as soon as the crowds started getting out of control.

This year I took off because I want to use that day to change my name at SS and DMV ... but I am making DH drop me off at the mall afterwards ... I don't care how crazy it is, I have extra money right now and I'm DYING to shop!

I think black friday is great if you have a specific item you want and you've been tracking it for a while. I would not go to browse. You go with a mission!!
