I would love to do a book club depending on the location. I'm in queens so it's sometimes hard to get out to LI on a week night. Right now I'm reading the sookie stackhouse series.

This is my problem also...we could do an online book club

I am willing to travel to mid to western nassau if it is once every 4 to 6 weeks or so..

Yeah Nassau I would do...Suffolk is just sooo far for me

I'm almost finished with Very Valentine.

Kim, I keep meaning to ask you, how do you like it?? What part are you up to or have you already finished?

Ok so -
In order to get this thing going I think we have to lay out what would work for all of us:

- we would have to set a time limit to finishing the book (ex. 4 to 6 weeks etc..)

-where would be best? What town? (ex. barnes & nobles, panera bread, starbucks)

- Who / How are we picking the books? (ex. other book club list, diffrent genere for each month, whats the newest best sellers)

I think maybe a book a month so everyone has time. We can always rotate where we meet, the town the venue (i.e. starbucks, panera bread etc.) And I think we can always recap online through the site with a thread so if someone read the book but couldn't make it to the meeting they can still participate in the discussion. As far as picking the book, we can still rotate and possibly pick names from a hat and that person gets to choose a book. Or throw book names into the hat and draw that way.

Thanks for responding!! I think that we need to have the person who's choosing a few selections that we then can vote on.. That way we know no one else has read it yet.

Hummm valid point. I do think it will be difficult to find something that will be brand new to everyone. I love the voting option.

Voting sounds like a good idea and I wouldn't mind re-reading a good book again either
