Bookins

Bookins

Colette posted about this on some thread awhile back but I wanted to post it again because I am LOVING this site. If you like to read its awesome.

I am reading Something Borrowed now.

Basically you get 15 points for a free signup. as you list your books and people ask for them, you gain more points. Like if I wanted Colette's book I would put it on my wnat list and she would get an email from Bookins sayign I want it. She then would print out the pre-paid postage label (the 'buyer' pays the 4.49 flate rate shipping)and she would just wrap up the book according to their instructions and drop it into any US mailbox.

When I got it she would get whatever points they alloted for that book, to use for whatever she wants.

Whats's great is that all the books are pretty new too. They have strict rules about the conditions the books have to be in so you never get something that looks it it from a garage sale. I only got on 'bad' book and they refunded me the shipping cost right away.

Its great if like me you have so many books you want to try and get rid of before donating to the library.

The only downside is sometimes you have to wait a long time for a book if its on backorder through amazon but its fun. And when you finish the book you traded, you can post it again and if someone wnats it, then it gets traded once more.

the site is:

www.bookins.com

Post your books ladies because I need new reading material!

That happened to us too lol. Pete was rebelling. I domnate alot to the library but I get annoyed that sometimes they sell them for CHEAP (10 cents) if they feel they're not brand new.

Like really, since when did libraries get to be choosy? Our library when I was a kid had NADA and I remember beign 17 and dragging in 2 GARBAGE BAGS FULL and that woman put them on the sell table because the pages were oxidized from storage. But otherwise they were new-within a few years old and perfect condition.

So I try to trade them first and if they dont go then I drag the hardcovers to the library and drop off the paperbacks in the kitchen at work for people to take as they like.

We should start a thread with favorite authors because that would help maybe in tarding books. I hate throwing them away-such a nerd. I would rather give them to someone I know will enjoy them.

OOO I am going to check those out right now. Hows the quality? I hate getting dog eared books with damaged covers.
