BOOKWORMS : Ever hear of this author ?

I was getting a pedicure the other day, and decided to flip through Oprah's 'O Magazine'. I read a clip in her Readers section about an author, Torey Hayden and a book that is about to come out of hers called Beautiful Child. Has anyone read any of her books ? I picked up Sunflower Forest at the library (havent gotten to start it yet)...

It seems that her books get rave reviews (see amazon). She writes non fiction stories about abused and traumatized kids that have found an amazing person to change their lives around, in most cases that 'special person' is her, the author. I havent read the summaries on all her books.

Just thought i'd throw her name out there incase any of you like these types of sad yet moving stories....

Speaking of which, has anyone read 'A Child Called IT ?' I wanted to read that one too......

Torey Hayden is my absolute all time FAVORITE author, and as a teacher to be, I think you will love her too! They are truly the most inspiring and heart breaking stories I have ever read.

I also have read A Child Called It, and the books that followed it, which were all excellent.

I read 'A Child Called It' and the two that came after it and they were wonderful but heartbreaking, especially the first one. I got through it comforted by how well this man is doing now and also by the thought that there is a special place in hell for his mother. The things she did to him are just unimaginable.
