Someone remind me next year to not buy DH any video games for Christmas...
He's been playing Super Mario Bros on the Wii & NHL 10 on the Xbox all weekend long!!!
I'll never understand how they do it...

Re: Boys and their video games...
you are not alone! my dh plays video games ALL THE TIME! he would play all night long if he could. surprisingly he didn't play for the past 4 days, until yesterday!
it's annoying, but there are a lot of worse things he could be doing.

I have to agree w/ previous poster....I know it's annoying w/ the video games - DH plays Dungeons & Dragons Online for hours at a time - but on the flip side to it - I always know where he is - & he's not out gambling, drinking, strip clubs or cheating - so I always try to keep that in the back of my mind everytime I start to get a little miffed at the computer gaming...

Re: Boys and their video games...
I have a friend from college who ended up separated less then a year after her wedding because her husband was a video game addict. She left him and he actually had to seek professional help and has to go to meetings. All video games had to be removed from his house.
He was unable to hold a job or be in a successful marriage. Since seeking help he has become a successful wedding photographer and she moved back in.
Watch out for those games.

Wow, that's pretty serious!!! There are actually video game addicts anonymous meetings? I'll have to tell DH that if he doesn't stop playing Final Fantasy 7 and WOW this week, I'm giving him a pamphlet. . .LOL!!!
I guess he can kinda say the same about me now. . .his video game playing habits have forced me onto FarmVille and Cafe World on FB!!!!

Re: Boys and their video games...
My ex used to play video games so much he literally lost interest in sex. Nothing else mattered. It was so frustrating I said I'd never date anyone else who liked to play video games.
And now I have DH who is a computer nerd and spends all his time on the internet teaching himself how to do stuff and then doing it to our computer or doing it for work. There's always something!

Oh man! I've heard of some people being serious addicts, but nothing that it became so detrimental to their lives. That is pretty bad. Glad to hear he got help.

I think it was more group therapy but not 100% sure. It would be funny if they had actual meetings though. They live in PA so there is nothing much to do there, its possible they do.
