bridesmaidzilla.....

so i was reading the new marie claire..its all about sex and the city 2

anyways they had this great article about how the new trend is bridesmaidzillas..girls who only agree to be n the wdding just so they can ruin it..the had some crazy stories but this was the one that took the taco...2 frends of the bride..they went to law shool together agreed to be in and gave the bride nothing but trouble..some of what they did

1.no show and no money for shower/b party
2.said they hated the dress and would only wear it if the bride paid which she ended up doing
there was some other small stuff but the day of this is what they did

when they showed up at the hotel didnt say hello to the bride..went right by her saying what a waste this was which left the bride crying so her mother went to have a talk wth them and said if u dont want to be here leave..and they did

dropped the bm dresses on the floor, unaltered by the way

here is the topper..when the bride got back from her hm she had a bill from each bm for 500 bucks saying she owed them for travel expenses!!!!

can u believe that???

anyone have bridesmaidzilla stories?

Re: bridesmaidzilla.....

My maid of honor pitched a fit about her hair on the day of the wedding..... hated what the girl I had available did and had a terrible face just before pictures started. I tried to pay it no mind since I wasn't gonna have my pics with a puss on the face.

She also hated the dress.... but I loved it!

If anyone considers people like that their 'best friends' I just feel even worse for them!

Re: bridesmaidzilla.....

What nasty BEETCHES!!!!!! That sh!t would NOT fly with me, no way.

Luckily my gals were all pretty accommodating and didn't complain about anything. The only issue I had was with one of them who took public transport to my apartment instead of driving or getting a ride. She was asking me up till the NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING if I could pick her up from the train station, if I could call so and so to ask if they could give her a ride, etc. etc. etc. I politely but firmly told her that it was the night before my wedding and it was of no consequence to me how she got to me, just that she did. I also politely reminded her she had the other BM's phone numbers/email addresses and to speak with them directly.

But really, who pesters the bride the night before her wedding about ANYTHING?

Re: bridesmaidzilla.....

my BM who i have been friends with since kindergarden...lives in another state
helped me pick out the dress, then decided 3 days before the wedding she hated it and it is extremely unflattering, and asked me if she could change dresses during the reception....
well i told her no she couldnt change, kinda defeats the purpose, and she wore it the whole time she was there...
but left before dinner was even served!!!!!!

also havent heard from her since! after the wedding i called, emailed a billion times nothing!
not even an explaination why!!

oh well i was upset at first but i dont need horrible friends like that in my life anyways! just curious what i did on my wedding day to cause her to never speak to me again?!
oh well her loss!

not to mention she treated the staff at the venetian like trash! thought she was better than everyone there and demanded them bring her ranch dressing to go with the vegetable platter they had!!!

Re: bridesmaidzilla.....

sounds like my MOH!!!! Some people are reall a$$holes and I totally believe that you learn who your true friends are when planning a wedding!!!

She didnt help one bit with my shower, ditched my bachelorette party 3 hours before we were going out....didn't help plan that either, she had a huge fight with her fiance and was crying, pouting and sulking during my entire wedding, she didn't dance once!!! She had the audacity to tell me she had a horrible time!!

Pay back is a biatch...her wedding is in 2 weeks

I completely agree... You have to be a cruel, heartless person to purposely ruin someone's wedding... Especially someone you consider a 'best friend'. I had one thing happen on my wedding day that royally pizzed me off but I don't want to post it in case of lurkers. Except for that one thing my BP really was great.
