My friend is getting married this summer and it's in NJ . Originally DH was planning on coming with me, but after looking at hotel room prices and thinking about money for a gift, we're thinking maybe I'll just go with my girlfriends. We just bought a house and are really tight on money. We can't find cheap hotel rates down there either. We'd save so much money if I just shared a room with the girls. THey're not bringing dates (none of them are married though). Would it be wierd to not bring DH? Would people frown upon that?

Re: Bring DH or no?
If you are comfortable going by yourself with your friends then I don't think there is anything wrong with it- It sounds like it would be a fun 'girls' weekend. Three of my college friends came to my wedding without their husbands and they had a great time.

Re: Bring DH or no?
I think it's fine....a ton of our friends came to our wedding w/o their husbands or wives for various reasons!! I missed them but it was important to me that they were there.
ETA: I also have been to many weddings withouth DH since he is in a band and if I don't know about the date at least a year in advance there is a good chance that he'll be booked

I think either way is fine. I would go with the girls and make up an excuse for DH if anyone asks and you feel uncomfortable.

2 of my BMs came without their spouses to my wedding so they could share expenses.

Re: Bring DH or no?
I actually just went to my friends wedding w/o DH. They were getting married in Florida and we just couldn't afford for both of us to loose a days pay, plus airfare & hotel. I had a good time but it was weird not having him there.

If he's not close with the couple, I don't see any reason not to leave him home! Have Fun!!

Re: Bring DH or no?
3 of my best friends from grad school are getting married, 1 this year and 2 next. They are all OOT, Michigan and Chicago. DH will not be coming with me b/c it's just too much money. They all understand!
