bummed
pls don't quote...i really just need to get this off my chest. i have gained a tremendous amount of weight since the wedding. we're talking now 15 lbs. as of yesterday. i'm starting to think it might be something off with my thyroid meds. but in any event, i feel awful, self-conscous and unattractive. mostly because all of my clothing is too tight and it's getting very obvious. worst of all, DH said something to me about it a couple of hours ago on the phone (in his defense, it was a 'i'm concerned' type of comment, not a 'you're looking like sh!t' type of comment).
anyway i just needed to say this to someone. thanks for listening.

Re: bummed
First, obviously is get your thryroid checked again.
Once you can rule that out then it makes it easier to get back on track and feel better about yourself...

Re: bummed
aw I'm sorry you feel that way - I can def relate to not feeling happy with weight and how that makes you feel all around. .. I would just say two things - one def check your meds bc it is depressing to be fighting things that are out of your control. . and then 2 - see if things have changed in diet and stuff and just make a plan to make some slow steady changes. .and I know it can be frustrating to not be where you want instantly but I am sure you are still looking good and your DH thinks so too!!
and 15 lbs is not small thing but def not a tremendous amount - you can def get back to where you want!

Aww hun..I am so sorry you are going through this. You are not alone. I am up 12 lbs since the wedding and even though I was trying to gain weight it is still an awful feeling. Definitely get the throid checked again and go from there. Please feel free to FM whenever you need to vent..>i so understand.

Agreed. It's not your fault!! And even if it isn't your thyroid meds, it's so easy to fall off track and a pound or two turns to ten just like that! Honestly, it takes me until I get to that point before I shape up and get myself back on track. Don't worry about it!

Re: bummed
First.
Second...def go get ur thyroid checked...thyroid issues can throw ur whole body off track
Third...if u feel like u gained weight and u want to lose it that's great...just make sure u do it for you and nobody else...
Sometimes tv,magazines, friends, and even these boards can make us feel so unattractive cause we have put on a few pounds...
If u want to lose it again I say great good for you...we should all be healthy..for some that's being fit and tone..others with a bit more to hold onto
I just don't want u to forget dh loves u no matter what...he loves u for you and if you were 100 pounds walking down that aisle or 1000 rolling down it
....he would and still loves u just the same because of who you are...it don't matter what we weigh or how the pants fit if he don't love the real woman a man is not going to marry her...Good luck in whatever you do...u can do it,losing the weight..just don't forget what an amazing, successful woman you are
Sorry so long lol...I'm just a jolly old chubby girl

Re: bummed
I totally know what you're going through! I just found my B-pics and was like, holy SHIZ, how did I let myself go??I am up about 8 lbs as of this morning since the wedding day. I was away this past weekend and ate and drank myself crazy for four days straight and gained 3 lbs!
I also went to the doc to make sure that my thyroid was ok (secretly hoping it was off so that I had an excuse for the weight gain!) but it's normal.
Just work out when you can (I just started P90X and am praying that it works fast!) and make smart choices. DON'T go on any crazy diets, they won't work and certainly don't have long-term effects. Drink lots of H2O and eat 5 small meals a day, which is hard for me since I'm never hungry in the morning, but when I was at my thinnest I was eating a big breakfast (greek yogurt, fruit, flaxseed, maybe even an egg), a medium lunch, and light dinner.
old rule - eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.
FM if you ever want to vent!

Just wanted to give you lots of hugs
Like the other girls suggested, see your doctor so you can rule out your thyroid.

Re: bummed
im so sorry hun. I can 100% relate bc I gained 17 lbs since the wedding. I didnt have any motivation to workout or do anything. I finally got so sick of how gross I felt and my clothes not fitting that I started going back to the gym the past week and trying to eat healthy. Hang in there...just try to get your motivation back.

There is not much I can add that the other girls did nto already say. It may help to keep a food diary to see what you are actually eatting. It will also help to give your doctor an idea of your food intake.

Re: bummed
Ok i completely understand not feeling comfortable. Its not teh norm u are used too. So first you need to get a blood test for your thyroid condition to see if anything has changed & if the meds have in fact not been working.Second remember that DH loves you & that being concerned for you is showing that. So when & if you decide to lose weight you will have a great support system & that will make it so much easier.
