....bummed about InLaws

Im so bummed about my inlaws. I come from a family that is super loving and super close kinda like everybody knows everybodies business but is super supportive, gives advice, checks up and how everything is going. etc....DH is family is the total OPPOSITE!!!

My inlaws I see about 2 x a week. One time MIL referred to me as a '3rd person' because I commented on a family issue, and from that day onwards I never commented on anything ever...

So I went over this week and it turns out DH's younger brother who had a gf for the past year, which MIL did not like, got married!!!... Granted, they just did a quickie wedding with no party, nada, but atleast being the eldest DIL and considering I go over every week, I wouldve had a whiff of it, or someone could have told me! after the wedding happened!!... DH ended up telling me Oh btw my brother got married at 10:30 at night... And this is a guy (BIL) I've known since he was 11 !!!!! I dont know what to feel.

My mom tells me I should just ignore everything, whether they include me in events or not, I shouldnt care, but it bothers me, because I consider them to be my 'new' family.

I dont know I guess if you never expect, you'll never be dissapointed.....

look i have similar issues with my in laws...most of them live in jersey so its even worse with them not inviting us or stuff like that...

the problem is i am just soo use to my family...being super close and including everyone with everything...some people just arent like that..

im sure they have been like this forever and its not just you who they are not including things in...

just kinda except it i think...its not like you dont have your family still! just know that it bothers you so much because you grew up being around that sort of thing! DH and his family were prob always like that and to them they are all not doing anything wrong!

hopefully eventually they will come around and start acting more like a family...but until then i wouldnt let it get you crazy
