Bustles for split-back?

Bustles for split-back?

Anyone have any pics of a bustle for a 'split in the back' gown?

My MOH is trying to figure out how to bustle her dress, and her seamstress doesn't seem to have many ideas.

Thank you....

What is a split back?

I've heard of a type of bustle that goes under the skirt. Basically all the train gets hooked inside the skirt, and in now looks like a slightly poofier dress with no train. Would that work?

Here's a picture of the back of her dress.

I think the tucked under look would work, but I think she would loose a lot of the detail towards the bottom.

I remember when I was looking for my dress, a few of the salon ladies had some cool idea about how to bustle that kind of dress, but I don't remember any of them.......my MOH is at a peak stress time so any suggestions would be great

I dont see any split in the back?

The back of my dress had a little split in the back (is that what you mean?) ... i used a one point bustle that fastened right in between the split and it looked fine.

I guess I'm not explaining it right. The back has a panel attached in the center. You can kind of see how the sides go down each side of the center panel....??? So it's not like a 'slit', but a 'split'.

Does this help at all? Sorry I don't know how to describe it. Maybe I can a picture of another dress with that kind of back that's more clear.......

I would do a french bustle - which is what was described above. Bustle the train under the dress, so as no to interfere with the lines of the dress in the back. I had a french:
