Buttercream Frosting

I know a bunch of you girls love baking...soo could anyone point me in the direction of a good buttercream frosting recipe?

I'm considering using the Wilton one, but i dont know how it tastes...

TIA!

Oh yuck...don't use the Wilton one with the Crisco. I use two sticks of unsalted room temp butter - whip them until they're light, add a tsp of vanilla, a splash of milk and a box of confectioners sugar. You might need to add more milk as you go - you'll know if it looks too thick.

I have a great one I use all the time. It's so yummy.

The only thing is you really have to use it immediately, if you refrigerate it and re-beat it, it tends to get course. But if you use it immediately it is a beautiful consistency and tastes great. Then you can refrigerate it once its on the cake.

Buttercream Frosting
Mom’s Preferred Recipe

Yields: 3 Cups of frosting (will fost, fill & border a 9” cake)

1 Cup milk
1 Cup Granulated Sugar (quick dissolve best)
1/4 C. Unsifted Flour
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 C. butter (1/2 lb.) at room temp.

• Combine milk & flour in small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils & thickens.
• Remove from heat and cool to room temp. (This is imperative or the frosting will not hold up for decorating.)
• Cover top with a plastic wrap to prevent crusting.
• Cream butter and sugar until very fluffy. Add vanilla and COOLED flour/milk mixture that has been put through a strainer. (A must = the slightest lump will clog tips.)
• Continue beating at medium speed until sugar is completely dissolved and frosting is fluffy. (Taste to be sure sugar is not gritty and has dissolved.)

Re: Buttercream Frosting

I use this recipe for all my cakes.

3/4 cup LAND O LAKES® Butter, softened
6 cups powdered sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup LAND O LAKES™ Half & Half
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons light corn syrup

Beat butter in large bowl at medium speed until creamy.

Gradually add powdered sugar and salt alternately with half & half and vanilla, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Stir in corn syrup.

I think its delish!!
